Yesterday, the topic of the HOME Encounter of Remapping Europe was ‘Hacking the Veil’. We create a campaigns advocating for a new imagery of migrants – the questions we asked ourselves doing this turned out to be just as important as the result.
The imagery on migrants is weaved by hundreds of thousands of images that are constantly renewed but also reproduced repetitively in a loop. A sticky web that gradually thickens till it forms a dense veil of images, conditioning what we see and how we look at things, taking control of our direct experience.Graphic teller Anna Clemente (from Collective Architectures) are plotting the findings of the sessions in this graph:
